You know him best as the producer of Britney Spears‘ “Gimme More” and remixer of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” but electronic artist Kaskade has stepped out with his own dance album, Fire & Ice. The album features collaborations with Skrillex, Neon Trees, and Skylar Grey.
Grey was the female voice on Eminem’s “I Need A Doctor.” On Kaskade’s album she voices a track titled “Room for Happiness” that could most aptly be described as a “crying on the dance floor” song.
The pairing was born of mutual fandom. Ryan Raddon, aka Kaskade says, “I was like, ‘I like your music.’ She was like, ‘I like your music.’ And I was like, ‘Hey. Let’s make some music together.’”
When many modern house DJs list their influences, Kaskade is a name at the top of that list. As one would expect, Raddon didn’t start by playing big clubs. “I’ve had many shows in my living room…on my parent’s PA,” Raddon said laughing. “That definitely happened. And, I had quite a few shows that I did for free just at people’s house parties.”
